This painting represents a yarning circle. Aboriginal people would meet and sit in a circle to share stories and knowledge and observe and listen to one another respectfully and openly. The sense of community and the power of feeling 'heard' that the yarning circle created was invaluable to the preservation of culture and traditions. The U shapes are symbolic of a print left in the sand or dirt by someone sitting.
