This painting represents women gathering together in circles to share stories and knowledge. Traditionally the Aboriginal women would sit together to prepare and cook the food they collected including vegetables, berries, eggs and shellfish. They often made hand tools, clothing and adornements using the wood, grasses, shells and feathers from the land and animals. Women were the nurturers of the children and the caretakers of other women in their mob, they shared the responsibilities and worked together to keep their people fed, clothed and sheltered.
